Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa to Collaborate on Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026

Ottawa, October 29, 2025 —
The Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa has expressed its support for the upcoming Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026, marking another milestone in efforts to deepen economic engagement between Bangladesh and Canada.

During a recent courtesy visit, Md. Liton Ahmed, Founder & Chairman of the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ and the Global Trade Promotion Council of Bangladesh (GTPCB), met with H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada, and Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain, First Secretary (Commercial), at the High Commission office in Ottawa.

The meeting highlighted preparations for the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026, set to be held from September 18–20, 2026, at the Mississauga Convention Centre, Ontario. Mr. Ahmed discussed the inclusion of the Expo in the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)’s Official Fair Calendar 2026 and proposed partnership opportunities for the High Commission as an Official Collaborating Organization.

Designed to strengthen Bangladesh’s footprint in North America, the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ will present export-ready sectors such as apparel and textiles, leather goods, ICT, agro-based industries, jute, light engineering, and handicrafts. The event will also serve as a high-level B2B networking hub connecting Bangladeshi exporters, Canadian importers, investors, and diaspora entrepreneurs.

Expressing appreciation for the initiative, H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez reiterated the High Commission’s continued support for trade and investment activities that help expand Bangladesh’s global market access. Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain further emphasized the importance of sustained coordination with GTPCB and relevant government bodies to maximize the Expo’s impact.

Both parties reaffirmed their shared vision of advancing bilateral trade cooperation, encouraging diaspora-led investments, and showcasing Bangladesh’s industrial and creative excellence on the global platform.
